As an AA sufferer my self, I went through the emotions of hair loss since the age of 7. Over twenty years we have been researching the various forms of Alopecia and the aetiologies involved. Although the disease itself is non-life threatening, the cosmetic and psychological impact on both patients and parents is tremendous and may lead to a high lifetime prevalence rate of major depression and anxiety disorder.

Sometime after birth, we (alopecians) may be exposed to an insult. This insult may be a virus.

The end result is that the immune system attacks the areas surrounding the hair follicle in a case of mistaken identity (autoimmunity). The resultant inflammatory reaction affects the hair follicle and for the hair follicle's survival must move away hence migrates to a safe area. It then, simply switches it's self off and rests waiting for the right conditions suitable for the follicle to switch on and return back.

This is where the Calosol product is at it's best, encouraging the return voyage and the switch on to take place. Hair follicles are extremely robust and capable of taking a lot of punishment. In AA, despite the disruption by immune cells the hair follicles are capable of regeneration given the right conditions, even after many years of immune cell insult.

About: Calosol "W'n'G" Shampoo

Directions of use
How best to Use: Anti-Hair Loss - Wash 'n' Gro
Wet hair or better pre-wash your hair and rinse, use any shampoo of your choice to wash and rinse your hair and scalp, the cleaner the hair and scalp, the better and more effective the Calosol shampoo will be. Then use a small amount of Calosol shampoo and massage gently into a rich lather with attention to the affected AA areas.
For best results, LEAVE ON for 2-4 minutes, then rinse thoroughly

For External Use Only: As with any other shampoo, avoid contact with eyes. If contact, rinse eyes with lots of water.

The product is made with pharmaceutical grade essential oils in a selective oil carrier.
The oil blend is also very good Anti-inflammatory agent. The restorative, regenerating and rejuvenating actions are especially useful for Alopecia Areata sufferers with severe forms like AA, AT, AU and where one of the problems may also be brittle and weak hair.

We recommend that you store the Calosol OIl Blend in a cool dark place - never keep oils where they may be exposed to direct sunlight. Topical application only, Do NOT use large amounts with one application instead USE SMALL AMOUNTS OFTEN.

Who can use "Calosol 4H Hair Tonic Spray"? Here are a few examples:

Diffuse Hair Loss in Women: It has been estimated that at least 50% of scalp hairs have to be lost before a diffuse alopecia becomes visible. The Doctor may find it difficult to appreciate diffuse alopecia in a patient complaining of excessive hair loss. Daily hairloss may be evident to you - more than usual clues like loose hairs seen on your pillow, comb or after shower- but not to others and this simply adds to one’s frustration. The course of diffuse alopecia is variable and difficult to appreciate; the sufferer’s complaint is that hair is being lost all over the scalp.

Telogen Effluvium: “TE” is characterized by a general thinning or shedding of hair over a period of months and is most commonly found in people who have recently experienced trauma. Common causes include childbirth, major surgery, severe illness, psychological stress and chemotherapy. Calosol 4H Spray stimulates follicles encouraging the production of better hair fibber quality hence avoids the “decreasing growth rate” that results prior to baldness.

Androgenetic Alopecia: 95% of normal adult men and 75% of women have some androgenetic hair loss. Women usually have the diffuse variant of androgenetic loss whereas men may have diffuse, patterned or both. All men and women produce male hormones such as testosterone and DHT.

DHT is mostly responsible for the hairloss. “It is accepted that a genetic predisposition for hair loss occurs mostly in men and less in women; the follicles in predisposed regions continue to produce hair of decreasing growth rate until static resulting in eventual baldness”.

Trichotillomania & Traction Alopecia: (hair pulling). Trichotillomania is one of the types of traumatic alopecia and is defined as the irresistible urge to pull out the hair, accompanied by a sense of relief after the hair has been plucked. It is a habit that usually appears in children and less in grown ups. It may remain undiagnosed for a long time. Hairs may be broken and are of different lengths. Trichotillomania leads to trichomalacia. Trichomalacia is the damage inflicted on the underlying anagen hair root by repeated attempts at plucking.

The 4H Gel contains the same selective group of active ingredients which are formulated as the regular Calosol 4H and for more gentle effect, we have added "Aloe vera gel".

The Ointment has been designed especially for areas of hairloss other than the scalp; the beard and moustache areas and the eyebrows. The Ointment has been designed to make applying Calosol to these areas easier and more effective.

The ointment is more potent than the other Calosol Products. Apply only a thin layer. Although the beard and moustache areas can tolerate a stronger version, you need to apply only a small amount each time.

Would Calosol 4H Solution Work for me?

In non-scarring alopecia, the hair follicles are preserved or resting, they are not destroyed.

Results

	AA: 100%.... hair regrowth in mild to severe AA with 90-95% success rate.
	AT: 100% hair regrowth of users with a 60-70%.success rate, with the remaining 30-40% of which there are a few cases with 70% or more hair regrowth.
